About the program:
The College of Allied Health Sciences, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli campus has organized World Anesthesia Day 2024 program with the theme “Workforce wellbeing” on 16.10.2024 at Easwari auditorium in the premises. The purpose of the program is to raise awareness about the importance of Anesthesia Care and promote access to safe anesthesia worldwide.
Workshop:
On behalf of this day, we have conducted a workshop for the students focusing on intubation and CPR. The Anesthesia Day workshop was organized to enhance knowledge and skills related to anesthesia practices among healthcare professionals. With the evolving landscape of anesthetic techniques and patient care, this workshop aimed to provide participants with the latest insights and hands-on experience in the field. About 40 of our students were registered and participated in the event.
Welcome address:
To address the gathering, Dr. M. M. Vijayakanna, Professor & HOD, Dr. R. Kirubahar, Professor and Dr. Balasubramanian, Professor, Dept. of Anesthesiology, SRM TMCRC, were invited as resource persons and took forward the program with their focuses on anesthesia care and safety, anesthesia – related challenges and opportunities in the medical set up.
Finally, Dr. K. Kumar Ebenezar, Principal, College of Allied Health Sciences along with the resource persons gave away the certificates for the students participated in the workshop conducted. The day was filled with engaging discussions, meaningful interaction and learning, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated.
In conclusion, the anesthesia day workshop successfully met its objectives, fostering a collaborative learning environment and knowledge sharing among the resource person and the students. Participants left with enhanced knowledge and practical skills as well as a renewed commitment to excellence in anesthesia care. Future workshops are planned to continue this vital education initiative as the students are very much interested in such activities.
