Cyber Essentials and Attacks
The Day 3 of Summer Engagement Program on “Cyber Essentials and attacks” held on 19 June 2023 at SRM nstitute of science and technology, Tiruchirappalli through online mode aimed to raise awareness and educate students and professionals about the growing importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital age. The event served as a platform to address the challenges, strategies, and best practices related to cybersecurity.
The program “Cyber Essentials and attacks” started with a Welcome speech given by Ramya student of II year cyber security, she gave a brief introduction about Resource Person Er S.Karthik Venkatachalam.
Following the welcome speech, Er S.Karthik Venkatachalam started the session with importance of cyber security in today’s world, He Explained the cyber-attack with various case studies like Cognizant attacked by ‘maze’ ransomware, Facebook security breach: upto 50m accounts attacked. Also he gave more insights about Difference between cybersecurity and information security, threats, risk and Key cyber security principles CIA triad with real time example.
The session providing a valuable platform for students to delve into the realm of cybersecurity and its significance in today’s digital landscape. The event accomplished its goal of raising awareness about cyber threats and equipping attendees with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves and their organizations.
Finally, the session was ended by a short quiz and students are actively participated. The session was fruitful to students. At last Ramya student of II-year cyber security, SRM IST, Tiruchirappalli proposed the Vote of thanks.
