The Department of Biochemistry, College of Allied Health Science, Faculty of Medicine & Health Science, SRM Institute of Science and Technology has observed a “Lab Technician Day-23” on 9th May 2023at lecture hall 2 in medical college 4th floor between 10.00AM to 4.00 PM. The event was organized to create awareness on the basis of the theme of the “The future is Lab” and the role of lab technicians in the medical field and to know the knowledge in the diagnosis of disease in the laboratory.
The program was started with Tamil Thai valthu followed by a welcome address delivered by Ms.T.Priyadharshini Tutor AHS and she invited all the dignitaries, faculties, and students and followed Dr.D.Suresh Dean College of Occupational Therapy and Dr. M. Manikumar, Dean-Physiotherapy delivered the presidential address. They have mentioned the importance of lab technicians in pandemic situations. Dr. A. Sundhararajan, Vice Principal, AHS give the felicitation address. Ms. S. Sushmitha II year, B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology has delivered the vote of thanks.
Totally 39 students from 1st and 2nd year B.Sc. MLT students were divided into 9 groups and 10 stalls displayed the various models of laboratory equipment such as Automated Tissue Processor, laminar air flow chamber, and microscope including the display of various types of microbial infection in charts. They exclusively show the model of the central lab which was located in the SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Center. Students from various departments are eagerly visiting the stalls and gaining knowledge of laboratory diagnosing methods.
