WORLD OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY DAY AWARENESS PROGRAM  – 2023

College of Occupational Therapy, SRM Institute of Science and Technology , Tiruchirappalli campus hosted an OT Wall event on October 25, 2023. Campus Director Dr. N Malmurugan and TSRM MC & RC Dean  Dr. Revwathy inaugurated at Hospital lobby and depicted their thoughts. The event’s primary objective was to educate attendees about the essential role of occupational therapy in improving individuals’ quality of life and overall well-being. Apart from that medical college block and IST lobby OT wall was conducted. The audience, comprising students, faculty, healthcare professionals, and interested individuals, actively took part and expressed their thought about OT . This event successfully heightened awareness of occupational therapy’s significance and received positive feedback from attendees, underscoring its importance in the healthcare community.

College of Occupational Therapy, SRM Institute of Science and Technology , Tiruchirappalli campus students performed Flash mob to demarcate World Occupational Therapy Day on October 26, 2023 at different places in SRM Tiruchirappalli campus. Students, patients, Doctors , administrators came across during the performance and took active interest in enquiring about the uniqueness about Occupational Therapy.

FUN LAND and FOOD CORT

College of Occupational Therapy, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli campus organized Fun land to Improve recreational activities to demarcate Occupational therapy Day 23. Various fun loving games and sports were conducted in different stalls Around 1000 Students from different institutions took part and enjoyed the program. The function was organized for 2 days from 26.10.23 to 27.10.23. One stall was dedicated to delicious foods and students enjoyed the evening with their mouthwatering foods.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY RALLY

OCTOBER 27th 2023

College of Occupational Therapy, SRM institute of science and technology organized Occupational Therapy awareness rally on 27th October in lieu of World Occupational Therapy day at Chathram bus stand. This Rally is intended to increase the awareness about occupational therapy among general public, medical professional, patients and society. Around 200 students from SRMIST Tiruchirappalli campus participated with great enthusiasms in the Occupational Therapy awareness rally.

The RDO flagged off the rally and emphasized the importance of Occupational Therapy in rehabilitation and why public should be aware of the role of Occupational Therapist in improving the quality of life among needy. Dr.Sethuraman, Chief Director Dr.Malmurugan,|Director and Dr.N.Balasubramanian, Deputy Director Trichy campus, emphasized the importance of occupational Therapy in rehabilitation of patients with physical. Psychological, social, cognitive problems. D.Suresh, Dean, College of Occupational Therapy delivered welcome address.

REHAB MEET

College of Occupational Therapy, SRM Institute of Science and Technology ,Tiruchirappalli campus in association with Spinal Injured person Association (SIPA) conducted Rehab Meet 23 . More than 50 spinal injured persons participated in the events. In day 1 they underwent medical investigations like ultra sound, blood investigation, ENT, eye examinations, orthopedic consultations, Physiotherapy consultation, Occupational Therapy consultation and Prosthetic and orthotic consultations. Sports , cultural and games were conducted for all the participants.. On day 2, Dr. Varun Kumar, IPS was invited as chief guest. Director, Deputy Director, Dean Medical was present and motivated participants for their future life. Health education was organized about pressure sore management, Bowel and bladder management and how to handle depression for the patients for their healthy life.
