Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas
The Theatrical Club of FET celebrated the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda as ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’ as instructed by the Government of India on 15th November 2022 at 3 PM at the SRMIST building. At the outset, Dr. C. Shanmuga Priya, Assistant Professor, Department of English delivered a speech on the legacy of tribal leaders like Munda and several others. Following that, the students of the Theatrical Club conducted a Quiz event for the students of Engineering on ancient drama associated with the freedom struggle. A few questions regarding ancient play like Ponniyin Selvan written by Kalki, Tughlaq by Girish Karnad and a few others were posed to ṭhe students. They were asked to give answers alloting one minute for each question. The participants were active and anxious in knowing about the Janjat communities and participated in the Quiz activity. The faculty Coordinators of the Club, Dr. C. Shanmuga Priya, Assistant Professor, Department of English and Dr. Selvarani, Assistant Professor, Department of Maths convened the programme.
