B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established in the years 2021.

It offers Undergraduate programs (4 years), Postgraduate programs (2 years), an integrated M.Tech. program (5 years).

B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering is one of the leading undergraduate programs at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappali, with a distinction for scientific rigor and development.

We offer our students an excellent educational experience that combines intellectual rigor and cross-disciplinary breadth. The course contents are periodically updated to introduce new scientific and technological developments. Electronic design, communication technologies, hands-on programming, a research focus, and entrepreneurship skills are all part of our signature educational curriculum. The ECE domain is often regarded as a challenging culmination of hardware and software. To help students get through this, we have highly qualified faculty with a diversity of experiences, covering and redefining the boundaries of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Our curriculum focuses primarily on the knowledge and skills that emerging engineers need. Thanks to our flexible learning environment, Inter-Disciplinary Experiential Active Learning (IDEAL), Our students gain a holistic view of the industry, an understanding of how to solve problems, and a focus on design and modeling that prepare them for success in a broad range of industries, including electronics, communication, software, bioengineering, and robotics.

The ECE program encourages students to work in research groups to undertake an inventive research project, and outstanding students are often rewarded with seed money, patent support, conference travel allowances, and other benefits. Students are sent to foreign universities under the Student abroad program (SAP), where they spend a semester and come back with rich experience. The program continually focuses on creating model students who can succeed in their chosen career path, contribute to their professional sector, and serve as role models for their community.

Meet our Faculty

Facilities

Our college is committed to providing students with the benefits of modern technology, and as part of this effort, we have equipped almost all of our classrooms with state-of-the-art integrated Thin Client SMART boards. Each room includes a standard PC server/Media Lectern, projector, touch screen, speakers, amplifier, microphone, and source switch control system. The faculty members have received training to effectively utilize this new technology and deliver lectures in the most effective manner possible. The Smart Board is an interactive whiteboard that uses touch detection for user input, similar to standard PC input devices. The Smart Board 800 series introduced a unique 'flick and scroll' feature to further enhance the user experience.
