Project Day – 2023

SRM Groups of the institutions, Tiruchirappalli campus conducted a Project Expo on 27.4.23 and 28.4.23.  39 students from the College of Allied Health Science, SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Tiruchirappalli Campus participated and displayed 8 working models such as Heart Lung Machine, Boyel’s Machine, Tissue Processing, C-ARM, Ultra Centrifuge, Nerve Block, Spinal Anesthesia & CT. The objective of the model was to raise awareness about the function of each machine and the role of Allied Health Professionals in the hospital. All the models displayed are judged by a panel of evaluators including external experts.

About the program
Project day 2023 has been conducted by SRM Tiruchirappalli campus on 27 April & 28 April 2023. The chief guest of the function was Dr.K.Nashine, Director -Research Design & Technology, IGCAR Kalpakkam Tamilnadu. The function was presided by
Dr.R.Shivakumar, Chairman, SRM group of institution, Trichy & Ramapuram Campus. Special address was given by Dr.S.Niranjan, Co-Chairman, SRM group of institution, Trichy & Ramapuram campus. Dr. N.Sethuraman, Chief director SRM group of institution Trichy
& Ramapuram Campus and Dr.N.Malmurugan , Director SRM group of institution, Trichy has felicitated the function.


The students of SRM IST , College of Allied health science, from each department has divided into teams and displayed their working models, Team A from Operation Theatre & Anesthesia Technology department displayed the demo of working model Boyles Machine,.
The students have explained well about the nature of the work in operation Theatre. Team B from cardio perfusion technology has displayed the Heart-Lung machine and students explained the working model, Team C from Cardiac care technology has displayed the model
of C-Arm machine and explained its working nature, Team D from Medical laboratory technology has displayed the model of fully automated Tissue processor and explained its working process in lab, Team E from OTAT displayed their model spinal nerve & Anesthesia
block and explained their process in operation theatre, Team F from Medical imaging technology students has displayed the miniature of X-Ray printing machine and working model of CT machine.

The expert panel of Dr.A.Sundharajan, Vice principal of the College of Allied health science, SRMIST & Dr.M.Manikumar, Dean College of Physiotherapy, SRMIST evaluated each and every project and they individually asked questions to every student and analyzed their knowledge about their projects. They gave several ideas of building the models indigenously and shared their ideas of working it cost-efficiently. The project was visited by various school students in Trichy of around 900 students, they enthusiastically asked questions of about each models and made a note of it. The first prize was given to Heart Lung Machine from cardio Perfusion technology and Second prize was shared to models of C Arm Machine & Boyles machine from OTAT & CCT
Departments.
