The college of Allied Health Science, Faculty of Medicine & Health Science, SRM Institute of Science and Technology has organized awareness program on “World breast feeding week -23” on 08th November 2023 at AHS Lecture hall-4, Fourth Floor, Medical College, Trichy between 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm. Every year 1st -7th August is celebrated as World breast feeding week. This year World breast feeding week -23 theme is “Let’s make breastfeeding and work, work!.”
Dr. A. Sundararajan, Vice principal- AHS, SRMIST, welcomed the all the dignitaries and students to the programme. He delivered the details about participants, need of the programme especially awareness on Breastfeeding day theme. Dr. D. Suresh, Dean- Occupational Therapy, delivered the presidential address, followed Dr. M. Manikumar, Dean-Physiotherapy delivered the felicitation address.
M. Manoj Kumar, Asssistant Professor, TSRMMCH & RC has delivered the keynote address and he expalined in detail about importance and benefits of breastfeeding on mother and child. From our institute 7 students took part in poster making competition as part of breastfeeding week celebration. which is Organized by B.Sc., Physician Assistant, College of Allied health Sciences in poster making competition 1st prize awarded to Bhuvaneshwari .S, from II B.Sc., CCT and 2nd prize awarded to Ms. Raja Arasi, from II B.Sc. CPT.
As a Part of Breastfeeding week-2023 B.Sc., Physician Assistant students were also organized Drawing competition on importance and advantages of breastfeeding on mother and child in which 4 students took participated in Drawing Competition from different department students of Allied Health Sciences. From which 1st prize awarded to Bhuvaneshwari. S, II B.Sc., CCT and 2nd prize awarded to Ms. Ifrath Thamima, II B.Sc. CPT. All the dignitaries have distributed the prizes for the winners. Finally, Dr. A. Sundararajan, Vice principal- AHS, has delivered the vote of thanks.
