AICTE Idea Lab
SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirappalli Campus, is set to establish an AICTE IDEA Lab aimed at fostering innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning among students. Supported by the AICTE, this state-of-the-art facility will serve as a hub for multidisciplinary research, prototyping, and entrepreneurial development.
AR/VR Lab
The AR/VR Laboratory is an advanced facility designed to integrate Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies into mechanical engineering education and research. This lab provides an immersive and interactive environment where students can visualize complex engineering concepts, simulate real-world scenarios, and enhance their design and problem-solving skills.
CAD Lab
The CAD Laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide students with hands-on experience in computer-aided design and drafting. Equipped with high-performance computers and industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, the lab enables students to create, modify, analyze, and optimize engineering designs with precision and efficiency.
Mechanical Workshop 1
The Central Workshop Laboratory is a fully equipped facility designed to provide hands-on training in essential manufacturing and fabrication techniques. It offers students practical exposure to machining, metalworking, and assembly processes, fostering a strong foundation in mechanical engineering applications.
Mechanical Workshop 2
In addition to machining and fabrication, the workshop is equipped for carpentry, sheet metal work, plumbing, and fitting operations. The carpentry section provides tools and workbenches for cutting, shaping, and assembling wooden components, while the sheet metal section enables students to practice cutting, bending, and forming metal sheets for various applications.
